My past video work has been mainly in documentary and experimental form. Some highlights include: Writer/Co-Director/Producer Cracked Up Documentary (MiniDV; 2003). Profile on crack cocaine in Tower Hamlets and Hackney, with particular emphasis on drugs workers, psychiatric and medical staff who support and enable users’ rehabilitation. With support from Tower Hamlets Film Fund and a bursary from Connexions Media. Writer/Director/Producer Silent Music Documentary; 20’ (DigiBeta/MiniDV; 2002). How young deaf and partially deaf people sense and experience music. Funded by a Jack Ashley Millennium Award through the National Deaf Children’s Society. Undertook a UK-wide screening tour of educational establishments and schools. Writer/Director Sense of the City Short Experimental film; 4’ (DVCAM; 2002). A unique experience of the metropolis. Commissioned and produced by Maverick TV/Resource Base for series 2 of VEE-TV for Channel 4. Cinema for the Deaf 2002 (Edinburgh). 7th Film & TV Festival 2002 (Wolverhampton). Writer/Director Metronome Short Documentary film; 4’ (DigiBeta; 2001). A deaf man’s passion for playing the piano and his unusual relationship with it. Commissioned and produced by Maverick TV/Resource Base for a series called VEE-TV for Channel 4.
