Luciano Pavarotti described her as having 'a beautiful
face and a beautiful colour of voice'.
Latterly, as predicted by Ilse Wolf, Sally's voice has started to
have a dramatic quality and volume, and she has started to sing Wagner:
Freia in Rhinegold, Gerhilde in Die Walkure, Magdalena in Die
Meistersinger and Gutrune in Gotterdammerung.
She is known for her acting powers and indeed won a drama award at
the Edinburgh Festival in 1990 for the musical play Maria Malibran
which she wrote and starred in, singing Bellini and Rossini arias.
Recently she received a 5-star review at the Edinburgh Festival.
Sally is bilingual in French and has performed widely in France:
in Campra's L'Europe Galante at the Aix-en-Provence Festival and
Beaune Festival with Marc Minkowski, and at the Carpentras International
Offenbach Festival among many other appearances. She has a great
fondness for operetta which allows her to explore comic acting.
Sally's career has taken her worldwide in opera, concerts and
recordings.
