Sally's purity of tone and ability to
improvise have made her sought-after in the pop world. She
is the soloist on the Album The Seduction of Claude
Debussy with the Art of Noise. It was used as the
soundtrack for the Millennium fireworks at Greenwich. Hans
Zimmer composed a lullaby specially for her voice for the
film Toys. The legendary producer Trevor Horn has a
passion for her individual sound.
Some pop artists with whom she has recorded
are Mike Oldfield (she was soloist on Tubular Bells II)
Marc Almond (solo on The Days of Pearly Spencer) The
Pet Shop Boys (solo on 'Left to my own Devices' on the
album Introspective) and KLF (soloist on K Sera
Sera).
Sally was requested as the artist to open the
MTV European Music Awards live from Milan. She performed
Puccini's Tosca to a worldwide TV audience of 1
Billion and then improvised with the group Faithless to
start off the proceedings. She performed live with the Pet
Shop Boys at Wembley Arena to an audience of 7,000 in a
concert given in aid of the Prince's Trust to the Prince of
Wales and Duchess of Cornwall. Latterly she performed with
them again at the Royal Albert Hall and the collaboration is
ongoing in 2019.
